If you’ve never eaten pea tips or pea tendrils before, they taste like peas. It’s pretty cool actually. However, I had never cooked or prepared them before. I looked around the internet and decided to just keep it extra simple and sautee them with olive oil and salt. That’s it. I was definitely in a more minimalist mood as the week progressed. The flavor of the pea tendrils changed a lot when they were cooked though. They went from tasting just like peas to having this stronger earthy flavor. It was really good and I’ll definitely do it again.
- 1 large bunch of pea tendrils, stalky ends removed and chopped into 2 inch pieces
- olive oil
- salt to taste
- Heat 1 Tablespoon of olive oil over high heat in a non-stick pan.
- When oil gets shimmery, add pea tendrils. Saute until wilted and tender but still crisp.
- Season with salt.
