The Struggle Is Real
CSA Scroll to ContentsLook at that beautiful haul will you?! Just amazing. And I’m so tired that I don’t feel like doing anything but ordering Chinese in every single day this week. I’m having a wonderful week which was preceded by a wonderful weekend but it has been FULL. I’m taking a permaculture design course and it’s once a month all day Saturday and all day Sunday. I’m loving it but it means I don’t really have the weekend to rest and recuperate from work and work has been really busy. So I am not really feeling like doing much of anything besides sleeping and eating (not cooking). But then I look at all those beautiful fruits and veggies that someone painstakingly raised and harvested for me and I think “If I want my waistband to stop cutting off my circulation I better get to cooking and stop eating out.”
This Sunday I’ll be heading over to Sarvodaya Farms for a tour that’s been organized through my permaculture class. I’m so incredibly excited that I get to see the farm where my food is grown and meet the people who tend to it and grow it. I met the head farmer, Rishi, very briefly when he dropped off my box a couple weeks ago but it will be nice to actually get to ask some questions and see where the magic happens.
I also want to say that the potatoes in this haul were what motivated me to actually get off my ass and start turning all this into food. I love potatoes, they always get me in the mood… to cook.
