I got back from my brother’s amazing wedding in Brooklyn, NY and now things are back to normal. No travel on the horizon, just day to day life as usual. I had been opting out of my Community Supported Fishery since I had been out of town so much but this time I knew I’d be able to cook and use the fish while it was still fresh so I enthusiastically opted in.
Are you wondering what a Community Supported Fishery is? Well, it’s the same thing as Community Supported Agriculture but with fish. The CSF that I participate in is called Community Seafood and all of their fish is caught no more than 48 hours before it’s delivered to the consumer. Each week they notify the fisherman in Santa Barbara, CA how many pounds of fish to catch and I pay a fixed price per pound of whatever they catch. The longer I participate, the better of a deal it is and the quality of the fish can’t be beat.
